Helping your student love school again
School is the last place students want to be when they’re behind in credits, struggling with book-learning, or don’t feel like they fit in. That’s why at New Century Academy, students feel welcomed into a community where they can learn how they learn best and feel like they belong. This allows them to continue being themselves while we guide them in creating a successful path toward their future. By attending parent-teacher conferences, staying in communication with our teachers, and keeping an eye on your student’s grades, you can help support their journey to help them find success – no matter what that looks like.
Meet the Staff
Our licensed teachers work hard to provide engaging, life-relevant classes that meet the Minnesota state standards. They provide personalized instruction and foster caring environments through advisory classes in order to meet each student’s unique needs.
All employees are required to have a background check.

Student Support and Health Services
We understand that students often need support during the school day. That’s why we staff a full-time student support specialist in the building, as well as a health office staff member. Learn more about health services, download forms, and read our policies on the health services page.
School Lunch
We do our best to serve a variety of foods that meet state guidelines and still maintain the taste that everyone enjoys! Please let us know if your student has any food allergies or requires accommodations. The monthly lunch menus are always posted on the website, or you can find them posted on our Facebook page.
Parent JMC Portal
Get secure access to grades, attendance, and other important information through the JMC parent portal. Please contact the office to get a user ID and password to log in. The portal is updated by teachers and administration regularly. Parents and students are highly encouraged to access the portal regularly to view progress and attendance. JMC allows parents to set up email alerts to be notified if their child is absent or in other scenarios. Teachers also use Google Classroom for assignments. You are able to sign up for alerts for missing assignments there as well. If you have other questions about your child’s progress, please contact the teacher(s).
Assessment and Testing Schedule
Please access the following links to view this year’s assessment and testing schedules. Testing and assessments are the way that the State of Minnesota gathers a snapshot of student learning over time. The data is used to help guide and support students by working to provide equitable education opportunities. Testing times can be stressful for students. You can help support your student by ensuring they get adequate rest and healthy meals at home.
Student Transportation
NCA is proud to offer full-service transportation, via ACC Midwest for all students in a wide radius of our school. Please contact the school office to get transportation set up for your student. Parents and students are also responsible for reading and knowing the school bus rules. If bus rules are not followed, the bus driver reserves the right to remove bus privileges, and disciplinary action may follow.
