Mrs. Moore – Social Studies

Hello! My name is Andrea Moore and I have been teaching Social Studies here at NCA since 2002. I have lived in Hutchinson all of my life, except for my first year, as I was born in the Philippines because my dad was serving in the navy at that time. I have 4 younger brothers, 18 nieces and nephews, 40 (younger) cousins, 4 children of my own, and one wonderful granddaughter! (and a husband also!)  So as you can see, I have been surrounded by children all of my life, and that is probably the reason I decided to go into teaching!  I have a passion for learning new things, especially in the areas of history and government, which is why I decided to teach Social Studies–to try to share this passion with my students. I love to travel to new places and explore more history and government wherever I go! My favorite places to visit so far include Washington DC and Hawaii (Pearl Harbor in particular). My two main goals in teaching are that I can instill a love of learning to all of the students, and also develop lasting relationships with them!
