Mr. Elton

134Greetings, my name is Kevin Elton and I am excited to be in my first year at NCA!  This is my seventh year of teaching, so I bring a large amount of experience to the mathematics department.  In my career, I have taught every math class offered in grades 7-12, as well as have additional training in teaching with 1:1 technology (iPads and Chromebooks).

In addition to teaching mathematics, I will serve as the basketball coach and am currently serving as the Chair of the Technology Committee.  Given our new focus on STEAM it is important to evaluate the technology our students need to use in order to be successful contributors to the community.  If you have any suggestions or comments regarding educational needs with respect to technology, please let me know.

Finally, I will complete my master’s degree in Educational Leadership in March of 2015.

Outside of school I enjoy many things.  Spending time with my wife and dog, traveling, playing golf (or any outdoor sport), playing guitar and piano, and working with 5-8th grade youth ministry at our church in Eden Prairie are my favorites.  While I listed several things, I am a person with many interests and am usually willing to try any new activity that is fun and exciting.

I am grateful for the opportunity here at NCA and am excited about how the STEAM initiative can develop our students.  Feel free to stop by and say hello at your convenience!
