NCA Community,
I hope this communication finds you all healthy and ready for a great holiday. All of the staff at New Century Academy wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
Distance Learning will start on Monday, November 30. This is also the start of our 2nd trimester. This means students may have a change in their schedule. If you have any scheduling needs, please contact your child’s advisor or the school office.
Daily Attendance
Students will use a google form to register their daily attendance. Students will have until 11:59 pm of each school day to register their attendance. The link for this form will be located in three different places to make it as convenient as possible for all students. Students can find the google form link in their 4th period Project Based Learning google classroom, on the school website main page, and on this communication below:

Daily Class Schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
We will follow the same daily schedule as face2face learning. The day is divided into 6 periods. Students are expected to attend the first 20 minutes of each class in their schedule through a google meet, every day. During the first 20 minutes, teachers will deliver essential information through direct instruction. Teachers are available during the last 40 minutes of each class to meet with students in small groups or individually using the same google meet. Students are not required to stay on after the initial instruction unless directed by the teacher.
Google meet links will be available to each student through school email and google calendar. Students need to develop the habit of using their google calendar to access the google meets. All assignments and instruction activities will be available through google classroom. All assignments should be completed and submitted through google classroom. Students should work with their teacher to understand the process for submitting assignments appropriately.
Friday Class Schedule (Office Hours)
The Friday class schedule will be split into a morning and afternoon session. There will be no new instruction on Friday. Students will have the opportunity to make appointments with their classroom teachers through their google calendar. This time should be used for one on one support, project based learning support, small groups, homework help and any other assistance students may need from their teachers.
