Upcoming Events

NCA students will be having a team building advisory day next Wednesday, December 21st!  Students will start the day in a grade level class, then participate in team building activities within advisories, including: skate n place, competitive games between advisories, potlucks, ice skating, and an annual game of boot hockey!  This is going to be a great day for NCA students and staff.

At New Century, we believe that all students should have the opportunity to go to college!  Our master teachers work very hard every day to prepare all kids for admission and success at the college of their choice.  We will be attending the National College Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 8:00AM until 2:00PM.  Students will learn about college applications, college admissions, financial aid, the variety of majors offered, and they will have the opportunity to talk with college counselors.  All students, grades 9-12, are eligible to attend this great event — admission slips will go home with students soon!

The New Century parents are currently forming a group of alumni parents, current parents, and potential new parents of New Century Academy students!  This group will meet once per month and have tons of fun helping New Century grow and become the greatest school in America!

In addition, the NCA parent group will help with our great events, provide valuable feedback and insight to the school, bring new ideas for New Century to improve as a school, and launch a non-profit New Century Academy Foundation. This Foundation will be a separate organization / account — and the parent group will determine which programs any fundraising efforts go to support — all money raised will go directly to our kids and programs.

However, most importantly, the Parent Connection group is a great opportunity for New Century parents to meet one another, develop life long friendships, and provide that extra support system to the students and staff of New Century Academy.

Welcome back New Century students and families!   The New Century teachers and other staff are so excited for the 2010-2011 school year.  We want all students to be thinking about college, and preparing each and every day to reach and achieve your highest goals and dreams — to find a passion for learning!  In addition, we look forward to working with all parents, and feel your role is so important in your child’s education.  The New Century staff truly values each and every student and family that we serve.

New Century will be offering the following after school activities for the 2010-2011 school year:  Aviation, Archery, Boys and Girls Lacrosse Club, All Sports Club, Student Council, Yearbook, School Newspaper, Study Sessions, Woodworking, and Derby Car.  We encourage all students to get involved — please contact your child’s advisor for more information!
