Manufacturing Scholarships

Each year the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA) Education Foundation gives out $2,000 scholarships to students (of any age) going into careers related to manufacturing (can be technical college, advanced training, an engineering degree, etc…).

Hutchinson Health Scholarship

The Hutchinson Health Foundation will offer an educational scholarship for graduating seniors from New Century Academy, who intend to pursue a career in health care.

The Foundation has an established scholarship committee that is responsible for raising funds to support educational scholarships in the field of health care.  Education is critical to insuring health care professionals are thoroughly equipped top provide safe, superior care to all patients and residents.  Scholarship recipients are chosen by a selection committee from our school.   The scholarship will be announced in May – the recipient will receive the scholarship of $1,000.00 at the start of their second semester of college.

Applications are available at the front desk of NCA and must be completed and submitted no later than April 1st, 2019.

Open Water $1,500 Student Scholarship

  •  Send an essay on the topic “How do you envision your field of study fitting into the future?”
  • Be a permanent resident of the United States who is enrolled or plans to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study towards a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3.3 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum 24 ACT or minimum SAT score of 1680 (including writing section)
  • Students must have demonstrated leadership in entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, and/or participatory citizenship.

Missouri River Energy Services Scholarship

The Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors with education pursuits that are related to the electric industry.  Up to ten scholarships will be granted in two categories as follows

  1. Scholarships for full time undergraduate studies

Must reside in a household receiving electric service from one of the 60 MRES member utilities.  Residence eligibility may be verified by calling the city utility office.

Must enroll in a full time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational technical school no later than fall of 2019

  1.  Scholarships for students in a powerline/line worker program

Must enroll full time in a Powerline/Line worker Program at an eligible community/technical college no later than fall of 2019

NHS Scholarship

Read through the NHS Scholarship information and talk to your NHS advisor about applying.

The deadline for student applications is Wednesday, February 1, 2019.
The deadline for adviser and principal recommendations and certifications is February 10, 2019. One additional faculty recommendation is also required by this date.

Better Business Bureau

Better Business Bureau is offering Student of Integrity Scholarships for Minnesota and North Dakota high school students beginning their senior year. These scholarships are designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people, and will be awarded to students who demonstrate high character in their personal choices and actions.

There are five scholarships available – one for $4,500, three for $2,500 and one for $1,000.

Students are asked to write an essay or create a video that gives a personal example of how they were challenged or struggled through a difficult situation and how they overcame the situation by the application of integrity and personal ethics. This must be accompanied by the scholarship entry form, one letter of recommendation, a copy of their high school transcript, a list of extracurricular activities and any post-secondary education plans. All entries must be received by Thursday, September 22, by 4:30pm

The scholarships will be presented in conjunction with the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics, which are given to companies that demonstrate ethics in their business practices. The BBB Torch Awards ceremony will take place on October 29 from 11:00am – 1:30pm at McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota campus.

Elks Most Valuable Student Contest

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks are offering scholarships to high school graduating seniors.  In addition to 500 awards worth $2.44M offered by the Elks National Foundation, there are 8 awards of $2,000 each offered by the State Association.  “The 2018 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Applications for the 2019 contest are available to download after September 1, 2018. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program annually awards roughly 20 college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 total per recipient.

NEW! Grant for Seniors Enrolling at ANY 2 Year MN College in the Fall 2018

Announcing an AMAZING new grant that will pay the remainder of a student’s tuition (after Pell grant and MN state grant) for two year vocational programs in high demand fields! (the qualifying fields and more information are listed in this link).

This grant is for students who are graduating from high school in the Spring of 2019 and who will enroll in a two year college in MN for fall of 2019. State Farm Scholarship

The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship doesn’t require a high GPA, but rather focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a 2019 graduating high school senior.
  • High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA between a 2.5 and 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Plan to enroll full-time for the 2019-20 academic year at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

 

The deadline is March 1, 2019 or the first 700 submitted applications.

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to a future nurse in the high school graduating class of 2019.

We will award this scholarship to the applicant who best demonstrates:

  • A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
  • A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare
