Lindsay Wurm – Special Education

Hello! My name is Lindsay Wurm. I am a first year special education teacher at New Century Academy. I graduated from Buffalo High School in 2001 and went on to University of Minnesota Duluth where I earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Secondary Education of Mathematics and a Minor in coaching. I also participated on the UMD Bulldog track and field team in the discus and hammer throwing events. After graduating I spent 4 ½ years of teaching high school mathematics and coaching track and field, and decided to further my education to work with students with learning disabilities. In the past year I went on to SCSU to earn a graduate certificate to add a special education teaching license.

My husband Kyle, of 2 years, and I are expecting our first child to arrive in early April 2012. We reside in Buffalo with our puppy dog Lily, and enjoy spending time outdoors together. While not working with students, I thoroughly enjoy training and participating in sprint Triathlons, as well as spending time with my family and friends. A goal of mine is to some day, travel the world!!!

I’m so excited to be working at New Century Academy with such a wonderful staff and great group of students. This year is going to be very enjoyable for me!
