Our Reasons for Pride

  • Nearly 1/3 of our High School students in grades 10, 11, and 12 have a GPA of 3.25 or greater.
  • We have received the School Finance Award from the State of Minnesota for the past 7 years.
  • We are a member of the Minnesota State High School League and Minnesota Association of Charter Schools.
  • Online Learning Opportunities are available.
  • In addition to mandatory state High School Graduation Requirements, NCA requires each graduate to complete a component of Service Learning, a Senior Portfolio, and a capstone Senior Project.

Our Safety Measures

  • An evacuation plan is in place and practiced throughout the school year
  • Students are required to have hall passes
  • Four staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid
  • We have a full-time nurse on site
  • We have resources offered by McLeod County Health
  • We have written policies for school safety and preventative measures for discipline problems
  • NCA is equipped with security cameras and electronic monitoring systems
  • All visitors sign in at the front desk and are required to wear a visitor’s badge
  • Security and file cabinet checks are conducted randomly along with drug searches with dogs
  • Emergency communication is facilitate with telephones and PA systems in each classroom and the use of walkie-talkies.

Our Special Programs

  • We have an extra-curricular agreement with District 423 so our students may participate in selected activities offered by them.
  • Co-Curricular Activities and Clubs – Sports club, photography, yearbook, prom, writer’s club, school paper, book club, Math league, Math Counts
